Meet the Librarian
Hello everyone! My name is Melissa R. Green. This is my 20th year in education and 2nd year at Elloree Elementary School. I’m a 2005 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a 2008 graduate of South Carolina State University with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and 2023 graduate of the University of South Carolina-Columbia with a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, traveling, crafting, shopping, and spending time with my family. It’s been a pleasure working with the faculty, staff, parents, and students of Elloree Elementary. I'm a book lover and I want students to be book lovers and lovers of reading in general. There is no better place than the library to instill this love. Therefore, I strive to be the type of librarian who makes the library a safe and attractive space where students can come enjoy books, be creative, learn about cultures outside of their own, and explore the world around them.
