Mrs. Keisha Martin-Houston
Greetings,
I am Keisha Martin-Houston, the proud Principal of Elloree Elementary School. It is both an honor and a blessing to serve in this vibrant community and to work alongside such a talented and dedicated group of educators. My commitment as your principal is to ensure that every child who walks through our doors is given the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive — academically, socially, and emotionally.
At Elloree Elementary, we are deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and academically rigorous environment where every student feels valued and supported. We believe that high expectations, paired with genuine care, open the door for students to achieve at their highest potential. Our mission — to educate with purpose, lead with compassion, and serve with humility — is more than just words; it is the guiding principle behind every decision, lesson, and interaction in our school.
This year, as we build upon our rich traditions and embrace new opportunities, we will continue to focus on delivering high-quality instruction with fidelity to our curriculum, providing engaging learning experiences, and fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and accountability. We recognize that every child is unique, and we work tirelessly to ensure that each student receives the support and encouragement they need to succeed.
I believe that strong schools are built on strong partnerships. Families, educators, and the community each play a vital role in a child’s education. I encourage open communication and collaboration, as together we can inspire our students to dream big, work hard, and persevere in the face of challenges. When we unite with a shared vision for success, there is no limit to what our students can accomplish.
Thank you for trusting us with your most precious gift — your children. I am excited about the possibilities this school year holds and look forward to celebrating the academic achievements, personal growth, and successes of every student at Elloree Elementary School.
With warm regards,
Keisha Martin-Houston
Mrs. Marian Green
“Every child deserves a champion: an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists they become the best they can possibly be.” My name is Marian Green, and it is with this late Rita Pierson’s quote in mind that I humbly serve as the Assistant Principal of Elloree Elementary, a place where we EMPOWER-"Elloree Makes Providing Opportunities for Warrior Enrichment and Rewards a priority” for all scholars.
As a student, I was privileged to have many champions in my life and, as a result, I made the decision to continue the legacy of imparting knowledge to my students, setting high expectations for all and building positive relationships within the school and communities. As the assistant principal, I am committed to working in partnership with Principal Mrs. Keisha Martin-Houston, the staff, students, and parents to nurture the academic, social and emotional development of each of our students. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from South Carolina State University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Charleston Southern University.
The past 20 years as an elementary school teacher in Orangeburg County Consolidated School District 3 and Calhoun County School District have been a rewarding experience. During that time, I taught kindergarten through eighth grade students, organized field trips to Canada, New York and Washington, DC, served as Math Department Chair, Grade Level Chair, Manager of the SCANNA Homework Centers, and served as Liaison for English as a Second Language (ESOL) Teachers. However, the past six years, I was an Assistant Administrator at Gadsden Elementary School in Richland One School District and an Assistant Principal at Mellichamp Elementary. During my tenure, I received rich professional development and major responsibilities that have prepared me for my current role at Elloree Elementary.
I am deeply honored to return to Orangeburg County, the place where I was born, raised, and developed my love for teaching and learning. My decision to become an Assistant Principal came from an ardent desire to continue the work that I started in Orangeburg County and to be closer to my family during these unprecedented times. Outside of work, I am supported at home by my supportive and devoted husband, Vincent, without whom, I would not be in the position I am in today. We are the proud parents of two handsome sons, Vincent and Noah along with our pet shiatzu, Chase.
